When a tenant moves out: what happens to their data

The sign-in stops at once, the history stays, and personal contact details are removed after the retention period.

Steps

  1. The admin or the owner opens the flat and presses Move out next to the tenant.
  2. The tenant's sign-in for this building stops working at once. Their vehicles are marked To review so the admin can keep or remove them.
  3. The flat keeps a History line with the name and dates, so the record of who lived there is complete. Invoices stay with the flat.
  4. After the former-resident retention period (default 36 months, set by FlatWise) the phone number and email on the old record are blanked, and the tenant-onboarding file (documents, National ID, family and address details) is erased.
  5. The tenant can ask for earlier erasure from their Profile (Delete my account).

Tips

The police pack you printed is on paper. Store it safely or destroy it according to your building's policy.
Rental records between owner and tenant belong to the owner and tenant, not the building.
